After the rain stops falling it’s a relief to grab the camera and get out of the house, still drizzling a bit but under the trees but it’s not so bad. Bank Holiday runners and walkers are circling the lake above Lenggries at Hohenberg. Last time I came up here it was cold and the lake was frozen over, now everything has turned green. The colour of the trees is just stunning, even though it’s late in the afternoon the bright green of the trees livens up the hills surrounding the lake, casting reflections on the still water.
The stream leading into the top of the lake, casts interesting reflections on the surface of the water, while the banks are still covered by the red leaves of autumn. Heading downhill and back to the village the ground in the woods is still red, the trunks bare and damp but the green foliage higher up the stems is beginning to breakout, soon it will cover the ground and close off the views through the wood. A short walk but sometimes the simple things around us are the most interesting if we take the time to appreciate them.
